Why do we stand to sing?
“And the Levites, of the children of the Korhites, STOOD UP to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.” 2 Chronicles 20:19

Why do we clap our hands?
“O CLAP YOUR HANDS, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.” Psalms 47:1
Why do we dance before the Lord?
“Let them praise his name in the DANCE; let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.” Psalms 149:3
Why do we lift our hands?
“I will therefore that men pray every where, LIFTING UP HOLY HANDS, without wrath and doubting.” I Timothy 2:8

Why do we have speaking with tongues and interpretation of those tongues?
“Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophecy, and forbid not to SPEAK WITH TONGUES.” I Corinthians 14:39  “If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most three, and that by course; and LET ONE INTERPRET.” I Corinthians 14:27

Why do we prophesy?
“Follow after charity, and DESIRE SPIRITUAL GIFTS, but rather that ye may PROPHESY.” I Corinthians 14:1
Why do we say “amen”?
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for ever and ever. AND ALL THE PEOPLE SAID, AMEN, and praised the Lord.” I Chronicles 16:36 — When we say amen, we are agreeing with what is being said. Amen means “let it be” or “so be it.”
Why do we say “Praise the Lord”?
“And in that day shall ye say, PRAISE THE LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.” Isaiah 12:4

Why do we anoint with oil?
“Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, ANOINTING HIM WITH OIL in the name of the Lord:” James 5:14
