Christianish—Sacrifice and the Christianish (Part 3)
Speaker: Pastor Barbara
Scripture: Matthew 10:37-39 (NLT)

Tonight we’re continuing this series… CHRISTIANISH. If following Jesus hasn’t cost you something, if it doesn’t cost you something, then maybe you’re not really following Jesus at all. Maybe you’re only Christianish. I say that because from the example of Jesus and all who followed Him in the New Testament, following Him calls for personal sacrifice. It’s what author Mark Steele called…The Painful Give...the sacrifice of that thing you love, you depend on, and trust in, more than you do Jesus.

Christianish—Sin and the Christianish (Part 2)
    Speaker: Pastor Barbara
    Scripture: Romans 1:28-32 (NLT)

Tonight we’re continuing this series… CHRISTIANISH by talking about something that I’m sure is going to prove to be uncomfortable and not popular; today we’re going to examine the subject of Sin and the Christianish.  The point is that things that are considered sin in a society may not be afforded the same treatment in the Bible. Likewise, things the Bible identifies as sin may not be considered sin by a society.

    Christianish—Are You Christianish (Part 1)
    Speaker: Pastor Barbara
    Scripture: Ephesians 4:11-13 (NLT)

The name of this series is CHRISTIANISH, and you may be wondering what on earth that word means. Well, Christianish simply refers to the state a believer can find himself in when he/she has the appearance of a Christian in certain areas of his/her life, but not necessarily the substance of Christianity in his/her heart. A Christianish person does some of the things you’d expect a Christian to do, and can generally give you the impression that he or she is a good Christian when you’re in church with him or her, but outside of the church walls he or she can be something else entirely. That’s what it means to be CHRISTIANISH; it means being a Christian, sort of.

Faith vs. Fear—The Fear of Man (Part 11)
    Speaker: Pastor Barbara
    Scripture: Galatians 1:10 (NIV)

We must be careful to follow God and not man.  Far too many Christians are living lives of bondage in FEAR of people. We are afraid of what people think, we are afraid of what people will say if we do something. We cannot let the fear of man determine our choices in life.

Faith vs. Fear—Fighting Fear (Part 8)
    Speaker: Pastor Barbara
    Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)

I have learned a lesson over the past few years and that lesson is this: When fear comes my way, and it will come, I have a choice. My faith can fight fear. I don’t have to panic and get myself worked up in fearful and frightening situations that come against me. If I stay focused on God’s promise and allow my faith to fight my fear, then I will remain in perfect peace.

Faith vs. Fear—Victory Over Fear (Part 7)
    Speaker: Pastor Barbara
    Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)

Jesus never promised that we would not have problems. Nothing could be further from the truth. However, He did promise that we could be victorious over those same problems because He has already overcome the world. He is our protector and our shield. Nothing shall by any means harm me. That causes me to be free from fear!

Faith vs. Fear—The Magnetic Force of Fear (Part 6)
    Speaker: Pastor Barbara
    Scripture: Job 3:25

In order for us to be healed, we have to first understand, that it is not God who makes us sick. I am going to prove you wrong when it comes to Job’s life and God allowing Job to be sick. The book of Job is a prime example of why we should get rid of fear in our lives. We should drive fear out of our lives because there is an unchanging spiritual principle that is still true today.

Faith vs. Fear—The Forerunner of Fear (Part 5)
    Speaker: Pastor Barbara
Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP), Matthew 14:25-31 (NLT)

Today, I want to talk about the forerunner of fear. A forerunner is something that prepares the way for someone or something. John the Baptist was the forerunner of Jesus Christ. He came to prepare the way for the Messiah. Fear has a forerunner and a sidekick and that sidekick is called doubt. Doubt is also translated as unbelief in the King James Version of the Bible.
